I have had 3 new dryers, none of them generate enough heat to properly dry!! I had GE tech look at the most recent one and he agreed with me and replaced several components, it still wasn™€™t working properly and GE sent me a new dryer which is not working also. This is great looking product but has engineering issues. What good is a dryer that does not dry??

So far so good. I have not been able to use all of the features of the dryer yet, including the steam feature which I'm most eager to use. The hose set that I bought with the dryer is not long enough to attach to the pipework. Overall it dries sufficiently and quietly. The door is very light and I'm worried it will require replacement in the near future. Sometimes it seems like it doesn't close all the way. It's pretty large and has dried comforters effortlessly and quickly with no burn spots.

The new part has been installed at no cost, but I™€™m not recommending this dryer to anyone. Beware of GE customer service including extended warranties. The dryer is very nice a lot of features but to energy efficient for me I prefer my old GE dryer. I have to keep turning up the dry setting or timer isn™€™t drying as well as my old one- saving energy is nice but I don™€™t let the dryer run extended amounts of time anyway especially if it interferes with drying time.

Although we love the brand the dryer arrive in a non working condition which required Best Buy to order a replacement. Unfortunately the scheduled date is over a month away which, as you imagine, is impactful to everyone in my family. We have a few GE profile appliances which are all working very well and it's a shame our dryer isn't as expected.

looks and works well but the door on it is put together like crap with cheep plastic clips inside. if you take your door off and hear rattling the clips are broken and its a matter of time before it starts coming apart on you since they have replaced mine 1 time already they wont replace again. Also the warranty service techs that will come out and look at will make assumptions and blame you for the damage on it ie ( they will say your leaning on the door and slamming it both of which we dont do, and the dryers is on the stand and my wife 5ft4in impossable for her to lean on it) i would buy a diffferent brand if you want a cosmetic looking dryer that will hold together

Longevity is not what it once was

For those landing here looking for an honest and technical review, here you go. I bought and had this dryer professionally installed (stacked on matching washer) in 2021. Here we are in 2024. For a couple months now the dryer has been making a horrible noise when running. I suspected one of the rollers was seized so I took it apart. For starters, they come apart really easily. Single screw on left side next to the branding plate. Take that out, slide plate to right and you™€™re on your way to disassembly. Upon inspection, it was clear the front left roller was the culprit. Large chunks torn out of it every 1/4™€. Further inspection revealed a crack at the front of the drum at the weld. I suspect the drum split here and started catching the roller which further damaged the drum. Now I don™€™t just need rollers, I need a drum and guess what? Drum is on back order! Hmm, I wonder why. This is clearly some sort of defect. I called GE and the best they could offer was 20% off sale price of the drum because the dryer only has a 1 year warranty. Good on them for the discount, but I would have been happier with a heftier discount, or free, to honor their work. Granted a business won™€™t stay in business long with that sort of service model so it is what it is. However, I can share my experience with other customers so you understand what you might be experiencing in a few years of ownership. I know not everyone is handy, so take this for what you will. I am an advocate of repair vs throw away so I ordered the drum. In the meantime I patched the crack as best I could with high temp bonding tape and waiting for some 3rd party rollers from Amazon. Appliances are not what they once were. To see a major mechanical failure like this in only 3 years is crazy. Besides that, the dryer is great. The sense drying and washer link work fantastic. I™€™m very happy with the features and functionality of the unit. Just beware of a potential drum failure.
