This is our second Monogram refrigerator. Our first one lasted almost 23 years. This one has definite improvement in the lighting as well as interior space. No longer is the lighting a huge hump in the middle of the refrigerator. We have had this refrigerator for two week and so far so good.

Expensive refrigerator

#1- Required to buy package of door handles for $700.00. The package had 4 different handles for different GE refrigerators. #2- the bezel around the water dispenser does not let one's fingers open the freezer door at a normal height. #3- The water dispenser tube is located forward so that when trying to fill a small glass one has to use their fingers to push the lever. #4- The flow of the water from the dispenser is slow. #5- The first 5 ounces of water from the dispenser is room temperature. #6- The refrigerator door is aligned. The hinge top is 1/4" different from the freezer door. This makes the door handles not parallel. #7- Refrigerator door did not self close. GE service came, tilted the refrigerator. Gap in panel at bottom #8- Inside, the vegetable draw should be higher. Not adjustable. Otherwise lighting is good, defrost seems to work, waiting for summer to use ice cubes.

This was a replacement of a Monogram fridge that we previously had (which was riddled with issues for years). We selected another GE Monogram appliance so it would match our other kitchen appliances (not because we had been pleased with the functionality of the previous appliance). Ordering and installation went fine ™€¦ until we tried to OPEN our fridge. A $9,000 fridge was sold WITHOUT HANDLES! A detail that was hidden deep on the website. We had to spend another $600 for a full ™€œtrim kit™€ to acquire handles (which included several pieces we had absolutely no use for ™€¦ straight to the garbage!). There was no option to purchase JUST the handles we needed. Shame on you GE for nickle and diming customers in this manner ™€¦ you just lost one. We will never shop for or purchase another GE appliance again. To others: a warning that the high-end appliance you are buying may not be sold ™€œcomplete™€ ™€¦ be prepared to make additional purchases (including pieces you don™€™t need!) to render your new appliance functional.

This is the second GE. Onogram refrigeratorI have owned in the last 20 years. I had to finally replace my previous GE Monogram because of ice continually forming on the evaporator fan. Although I have only owned my current GEMonogram for approximately two years, I recently required a Bodewell service call for the EXACT SAME PROBLEM. The technician replaced the part. I am concerned that this will be a recurring problem given my prior experience. Let™€™s hope not!

This is our second Monogram and not many improvements. Water dispenser has very low pressure and nozzle is too far forward from switch in back. In many cases you have to use your fingers to turn water on and hold glass directly under spout.

We were extremely disappointed that we had to purchase a new one when the service tech determined that our previous one couldn™€™t be repaired. The refrigerator section is extremely well designed and well lit. The freezer, however, could use a lot more light. The ice dispenser takes quite a bit of room out of the freezer. I think it could be better design. We replace a subzero with this one, and a subzero hardly took up any room in the freezer. Also, the water dispenser comes out at a very low rate and is not adjustable. The final disappointment is to clean. The condenser coil is a bit of a nightmare. The variable speed compressor is phenomenal and very efficient and quiet.

Our install went well. Pleased with the capacity on both sides, and the separate control for the bottom drawer. The ice-maker is slow which is compensated for by the bin size, but if we have a large group or a party it probably will be lacking in capacity to catch up. I had the appliance online initially, but had to remove it due to some technical issues with our network and now I can't get it added back. After two months the freezer main light is not coming on. Will have to schedule service. Annoying.

I really like the layout of the fridge and freezer. The lighting in the fridge side is really nice and bright. The one drawback is that, even though the fridge is panel ready, the silver hinges show up around the perimeter of the doors. I also really like the external water and ice dispenser.

The water dispenser does not have the same power as the previous monogram. The water comes out like a slow faucet. We even had a plumber come to install a new water shut off valve™€"no difference. We have the one with custom panels and perhaps the doors are too heavy b/c the scrape with each other when you open and close either door. The dealer has been here 3 times and fridge is less than a month old. We still have a call to them again. It sounds like finger nails on a chalkboard.

Water started running all of a sudden without warning. Not possible to shut water unless you move refrigerator out. It takes two people to do it. The valve is in the back. Incredible location. It should be readily accessible. Potential danger of flooding. The technician could not identify the problem. The refrigerator is less than two years old. He just changed the filter.

Our early-2000™€™s ZISB420 was intermittently failing so we updated to the newer model. I am disappointed with the build quality of the new model. First, the door panels did not fit because the bottom track width was not uniform due to deformation of the underlying sheet metal. Second, the dispenser switch requires excessive force to engage™€"an elderly relative literally has to lean into it. The one positive, love the extra interior space.

The GE Monogram is inconsistent. In less than a year, the refrigerator is showing freezer cold in the bottom shelves. Proximity Sensor for the dispenser never worked from the beginning, Freezer LED lighting is in the back of the unit, good luck seeing anything once the freezer is stocked.

After reading other reviews, I did expect the ice maker to be less than optimum, and that has turned out to be the case; HOWEVER, it still outperforms icemakers that I've seen in other refrigerators at relatives' houses and at rental houses. The cubes are smaller than before, and there is some delay in dropping them; but I believe those changes were intended to remedy prior issues with the ice door getting stuck open or ice getting stuck in the flue. The interior size and design is slightly different, but way better than other refrigerators we looked at. And we much prefer convenience and visibility in the side-by-side model than the French door style that often has issues with the door hinges. I did not like the handle options for this model, so I used the old blade handles from my old GE Monogram. Overall, very happy with my choice!

We absolutely love this refrigerator!! The drawers glide so smoothly. There is a separate temperature control for the crisper drawer. My favorite part about this appliance is how well lit it is in both the refrigerator and the freezer.

We bought this Monogram refrigerator because it was the only panel front refrigerator with a water/ice dispenser. It looks great but we have had some difficulties getting the panels installed correctly. The cabinet maker says the instructions aren't clear. Don't know about that, but we are still waiting for the correct panels to be made and installed. Also, the interior is very small. I believe our last refrigerator was a bit larger, but this one seems very small.

Broke after 5 days!

Stopped cooling after 5 days! Looks great and I like the amount of storage space but a brand new fridge should not stop working that soon. Still waiting on the part-very frustrated.

Its a beautiful product and we love the size. The interior space is perfect and not to deep. Our old 36 inch of the same size stuck out into the room like a battleship and food would get lost in the rear. I tried to shut off the ice maker the first day we received it and it stopped working. I called GE service and they were here the next morning. It yurns out I pushed the wrong two buttons and the refrigerator went into the Sabbath mode, which shuts it down for 2 days and you cannot reset it. There was nothing in the owners manual concerning a sabbath mode but the technician explained it very well. He reset it and it was up and running in seconds!

This replaces a 2001 Monogram refrigerator of a similar design. Only required minor modifications to door panels. Great lighting inside both sections.

We replaced our previous 42" sxs and found the new water/ice dispenser to have poor design. the rear paddle is too far back, and doesn't provide ease of engagement. The water flow is slightly slower than previous model. Although it is working correctly.
